About the Firm

Betts & Associates and predecessor firms have been in the appraisal business since 1963, and our headquarters are located in Oakland, California. Our primary territory is in Northern California, although the majority of our projects have been in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our principal appraisal staff are all licensed as General Real Estate Appraisers in the State of California, and are all members and active participants in leading professional organizations. We tend to focus on unusual properties and/or the more unusual intended uses of appraisals.

Our appraisers have authored books and articles relating to the appraisal industry, and are often consulted, or requested to serve, as expert witnesses on technical issues.

In addition to the experience our firm has acquired over the years, we have also developed working relationships with professionals in many related fields, whose expertise can prove invaluable in more complex appraisals.
